The U.S. produces more than 30 percent of the planet’s total waste, though it is home to only 4 percent of the world’s population. On average, the U.S. threws out about 260 million tons of municipal solid waste every year. A Columbia University study estimates that Americans throw out seven pounds of materials per person every day, or about 2,555 pounds of materials every year. We are quickly filling up our land fills. But it doesn't have to be that way. You can make a difference by repurposing or recycling items you no longer need instead of tossing them into a trash bin.
EcoHacks.org was founded in June 2020 by Dan Rohn, a serial entrpreneur who has built several of the largest Internet job portals. Guilty himself of contributing to our growing landfill mess, Dan decided it was time to act. And thus EcoHacks.org was born! We hope you will find the site useful and will contribute some great ideas on recycling and reusing.
If you have an idea for a hack, please post it. Thanks for stopping by.
